Meet Reuben, a fourth-year MTA apprentice on the path to becoming an Automotive Refinishing Technician at Wise Crash Repairs in Murray Bridge.
“The satisfaction of pulling off a well-done paint job, especially after the final clear coat, is what drives my passion. There’s nothing like the feeling of looking at the finished product from different angles without the mask on.”
He recently showcased his skills on a car panel as a special project during trade school. Ruben started by sanding the panel at 240 grit to remove scratches. He then applied a wet-on-wet technique, followed by a silver base coat. Adding unique lines, shapes, loops, and layering candy paint with various colours, he produced a beautiful result.
