Join us in celebrating the impressive achievements of MTA apprentices Nick Bignell and Connor Grant, as well as Brendan Law, at recent industry awards ceremonies.
Nick Bignell and Connor Grant, apprentices at OGR – O G Roberts & Co., showcased their exceptional talent at the Automotive Industry Group (AIG) South East 2023 Apprentice of the Year awards in Mount Gambier. Nick secured the 2023 Apprentice of the Year in the Light Vehicle – First Year category, while Connor was honored with the 2023 Outstanding Academic Apprentice of the Year award.
A big congratulations to both for their commitment to becoming qualified Light Vehicle Mechanical Technicians. MTA CEO Darrell Jacobs and Automotive Employment Officer Franco Albuino praised their dedication and attended the event to celebrate their achievements.
Meanwhile, Brendan Law, an MTA apprentice hosted at Mt Pleasant Crash Repairs & Mechanical, made waves by winning both the State (South Australia) and National Apprentice of the Year awards from Car Craft Accident Repair Centres.
Stepping into his third year of training to become a Vehicle Body Repair Technician, Brendan’s dedication and hard work have earned him this well-deserved recognition. His proud boss and business owner, Tom Campaniello, exclaimed, “Brendan was the best thing to ever happen to us. He’s amazing and incredibly self-motivated.”
Brendan himself expressed his excitement, stating, “Winning the State and National Apprentice of the Year was a shock, and I had the biggest smile on my face. It’s a great feeling to be recognised for the hard work and passion I’ve poured into the trade. I couldn’t be happier.”
