Updated Fees for Accident Towing Roster Scheme in South Australia
The South Australian Government has announced updated fees for the Accident Towing Roster Scheme, effective from 1 July 2025. These changes will impact tow truck operators and consumers requiring accident towing services.
Here’s a summary of the key fee updates:
Tow Truck Certificates:
- Application for a towtruck certificate: Increased to $76.00 from $74.00.
- Practical test for a towtruck certificate: Increased to $77.00 from $75.00.
- Towtruck certificate (for attending accident scenes): Increased to $225.00 per year from $218.00 per year.
- Towtruck certificate (not attending accident scenes): Increased to $112.00 per year from $109.00 per year.
- Temporary towtruck certificate: Increased to $76.00 from $74.00.
- Duplicate towtruck certificate: Increased to $76.00 from $74.00.
Accident Towing Roster Scheme:
- Application for the first position on a roster: Increased to $631.00 from $612.00.
- Application for renewal of each position on a roster: Increased to $373.00 from $362.00.
- Late application for renewal of a position on a roster: Increased to $315.00 from $306.00.
- Application for re-inclusion on a roster: Increased to $631.00 from $612.00.
Books of Forms:
- Authority to tow forms (book of 10): Increased to $278.00 from $270.00.
- Direction to remove vehicle forms (book of 20): Increased to $14.00 from $13.00 (Note: the previous book size was 10).
- Quotation to repair vehicle contract forms (book of 80): Increased to $14.00 from $13.00 (Note: the previous book size was 20).
- Storage notice forms (book of 20): Increased to $14.00 from $13.00.

Second-Hand Vehicle Dealer Licence Fees Also Updated
Alongside the accident towing fees, the government has also revised fees pertaining to the Second-hand Vehicle Dealers Act 1995, effective from 1 July 2025.
Key changes include:
- Application fee for licence: Increased to $363.00 from $352.00.
- Licence fee and Annual fee – Natural person (motorcycles only): Increased to $266.00 from $258.00.
- Licence fee and Annual fee – Natural person (any other case): Increased to $559.00 from $542.00.
- Licence fee and Annual fee – Body corporate (motorcycles only): Increased to $389.00 from $377.00.
- Licence fee and Annual fee – Body corporate (any other case): Increased to $840.00 from $815.00.
- Application fee with respect to a duty to repair a vehicle: This fee is now $68.50.
- Fee for replacement of licence: Increased to $34.75 from $33.75.
