Andrew Moularas’ 1969 VF Valiant Regal is more than just a project car – it’s something he’s built alongside his brother and dad, learning as he goes.

Andrew and his brother bought the Valiant from its second owner in Bendigo. It was a factory black car with a red interior, but it needed a full restoration. From day one, it became a family effort, with Andrew, his brother and their father getting stuck into the rebuild straight away.

The engine was already waiting. Three years before buying the car, Andrew had built a 265 Hemi in the back shed when he was just 15. With a bigger cam, oversized pistons, head work and roller rockers, the motor was ready to go and the VF was the perfect home for it.

Andrew and his brother have already taken the car drag racing. They gradually gathered the parts needed to get it ready for the summer off-street drags at The Bend.

The setup now includes a single-stage nitrous kit, Outlaw shifter, delay box and line locker, all sourced through VP Australia.

Like a lot of apprentices, Andrew’s learning doesn’t stop at work. Time in the shed, figuring things out the hard way and building something with family has been just as important, and the Valiant is proof of that.
