Meet Scott, a school-based MTA apprentice training to become a Heavy Commercial Vehicle Technician, currently based at Torrens Transit Edinborough.
Scott recently joined a day-long program organised by the South Australian Aboriginal Secondary Training Academy at the MTA, where he was able to explore the training facility.
His interest in automotive careers dates back to childhood, spending time with his dad working on cars in their backyard and driving around the bush together. Moving to his current location didn’t stop Scott from pursuing his passion; he continued to work on cars and transitioned from light vehicles to heavy ones.
Scott’s main goal is to qualify in his chosen field. He has a deep passion for trucks and enjoys both repairing vehicles for friends and going on drives with them.
Inspired by his dad, who taught himself the trade, He enjoys the industry for its strong sense of community, the challenges it presents, and his love for trucks and other vehicles. To Scott, it’s more than just work; it’s a way of life.
