Harrison is taking on a dual trade apprenticeship in Light Vehicle and Agricultural Equipment at Torrens Transit. For him, doubling his trade means doubling his skills – and setting himself up for a future full of opportunities.
After completing a VET course in Automotive Servicing Technology at Mount Barker High School, Harrison was ready to take the next step with an apprenticeship at MTA Training and Employment. “I wanted to know more about the internals of cars so I can work on them properly and also give back to the community,” he says.
His ultimate dream? To one day be part of a Formula One or Supercars team. Motorsport first captured his attention in 2021, during the dramatic title fight between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. Since then, the adrenaline of racing has fueled his passion for cars.
That passion goes way back – from being a Hot Wheels fan at ten years old to doing odd jobs on cars for friends and family. Now, he’s excited to dive deeper into the industry: “What excites me most is seeing the end result. Knowing your hard work has paid off and you can enjoy it.”
Harrison also values the essential role mechanics play in everyday life: “Everyone needs a mechanic. Not everyone knows how to fix their car – and most don’t want to because they’re busy. It’s rewarding to be the one they can rely on.”
With his drive, skills and ambition, Harrison is already steering his career toward an exciting future in the industry!
