Meet Isaac, our newest apprentice at MTA, specialising in panel beating. His love for cars has deep roots, inspired by his dad who is a diesel mechanic and a truck driver.
“I’ve loved cars my whole life. In our garage at home, you’ll find my dad’s first car, a Ford XY Falcon 500, fully restored after a lot of hard work and love. Growing up, it motivated me to see how committed he was to be restoring that car, right down to the smallest details.”
“When I found out the cost of the paint job for his car back in 2000, I was amazed. I think he spent four and a half thousand dollars on a candy coat. Seeing what that car meant to him, his first car at 16, and witnessing its transformation over the years was mind blowing. That got me interested in this trade.”
Isaac isn’t satisfied with just being a panel beater; he aspires to become a dual tradesman, acquiring skills in painting and other areas. “I want to start with panel beating, then move on to painting, and maybe even go further by working on suspension parts and fixing damages. That way, I can handle a car’s entire restoration process myself.”
What excites Isaac most about this industry is its constant evolution. “Every day brings a new challenge, whether it’s a different car model or a unique repair” he said. He’s dedicated to perfection, aiming to make repairs so flawless that they’re indistinguishable from factory work.
Isaac’s skills aren’t confined to the workshop; he’s a DIY enthusiast. He regularly works on his own VP Commodore (pictured below) and if that weren’t enough, he’s also a tech-savvy gamer who’s built his own computers.

Isaac’s commitment to perfection and diverse skills will undoubtedly leave a mark in the world of panel beating and beyond.
