Laws to improve the way the automotive industry can legally dispose of abandoned vehicles have taken a major step forward, passing both houses of the South Australian Parliament.
The Unclaimed Goods (Miscellaneous) Amendment Bill 2025 was tabled in parliament following strong advocacy from the MTA on behalf of members frustrated with outdated and red tape-riddled processes.
For years, the MTA has heard from members expressing frustration with the complex and outdated laws.
Thanks to the MTA’s strong advocacy, automotive businesses will benefit from simpler, cheaper and more modern disposal processes.
A special thank you goes to Graham Crawford from Cliff’s Auto Repair Services and Aiden O’Bryan from Auto Craft Paint & Panel for supporting media attention to this important issue.
