Meet Ajay, a first-year MTA apprentice training to become an Automotive Body Repair Technician at Rhino Crash Repair.
Ajay’s love for cars was sparked by growing up around them—his brother’s Japanese cars, his dad working on them, and his mum’s love for her Holden Commodore. This exposure fuelled Ajay’s interest in car customisation and restoration.
“Just two weeks after attending the Adelaide Motorsport Festival and speaking with the MTA at their booth, I landed an interview and began my work experience at Rhino Crash Repair, where I am now employed. I couldn’t be happier and am grateful for the opportunity. Everyone at my host company has been very welcoming, and I’m excited to finally be part of the automotive industry.”
Ajay dreams of owning his own shop one day, specialising in crafting custom car parts and transforming drift cars with roll cages and bull bars. For Ajay, panel beating is more than just a job; it’s a way to follow his passion for hands-on work with vehicles.
Outside of work, Ajay enjoys fishing, sim racing, and video games. However, his main focus is excelling in his apprenticeship and gaining deep knowledge in panel beating. “People will always want their ride to look their best, and so far my favourite aspect of the job is dent pulling.”
His enthusiasm and dedication promise a bright future ahead!
