Meet James, a determined MTA apprentice with a passion for motorcycles. Currently pursuing a Certificate II in Automotive Service Technology (AUR20520), he is contemplating a future career in either automotive refinishing technology or automotive body repair technology.
His passion for motorcycles grew stronger after a friend introduced him to the world of two-wheelers. Initially, the big question was whether to invest in a car or a bike, but being a year twelve student with a part-time job, budget constraints were an important factor.
After receiving his motorcycle license on August 29th, James wasted no time in his quest for a bike. Just a week or two later, he found a Kawasaki Ninja 300. “It’s the perfect beginner bike, and looks great”, he said.
James immediately saw the potential for improvements. He began working on its appearance with a fender eliminator kit and a new windshield. He also invested in a quality helmet and a better shifter.
James’s ambitions don’t stop there. He has plans to install a power commander kit to enhance his bike’s performance, boosting its power output to 300cc. He’s also considering upgrades like better brakes, tires, rotors, and sprocket chains.
With a promising future ahead, James is not only learning his trade but also customising his ride one modification at a time.
