We are proud to share that MTA Training and Employment has been awarded the Large Training Provider of the Year at the 2025 South Australian Training Awards – the highest honour for training excellence in our state.
Receiving this award reflects our deep connection to the automotive industry and the ongoing support of our MTA members, customers and apprentices.
“Every day, our members provide us with insights and access to the latest trends and technology. Thanks to their support, the future of automotive is brighter than ever for our apprentices,” said MTA SA/NT CEO Darrell Jacobs.
In just a few short years, we have increased apprentice numbers by nearly 30 per cent, with over 1,100 apprentices currently training and hundreds of technicians continuing to upskill with us.
This achievement reinforces what we have always known: MTA Training and Employment is South Australia’s leader in automotive training – and we are just getting started.
We don’t just follow industry trends – we lead them. Our training model is developed with industry input at every stage, ensuring our apprentices graduate with the skills employers need. Highlights of our innovative programs include:
- Australia’s first and only automotive dual trade apprenticeships, with more than 100 apprentices currently enrolled.
- Dedicated trainers with current industry experience, delivering hands-on knowledge, practical skills, and real-world insights straight to the classroom.
- Pioneering school pathways to help students kickstart their automotive careers.
- A nation-leading apprentice mentoring program to keep apprentices on track and in the trade.
- Reinvesting every dollar back into the industry as a not-for-profit provider to drive the future of automotive.

From South Australia’s first dedicated EV Training Centre to our brand-new Automotive Technology Vehicle Centre and Australia’s best automotive paint training facilities, we are equipping apprentices with the skills to thrive in a rapidly changing mobility landscape.
