The MTA is excited to announce that nominations are now open for the 2025 MTA Automotive Awards. These prestigious awards recognise excellence and dedication within the automotive industry, from outstanding employers to exceptional apprentices.
Automotive Industry Employer of the Year
This award celebrates South Australian automotive apprentice employers who go above and beyond in shaping the future of the industry. It honours businesses that demonstrate unwavering commitment to their employees’ health, wellbeing, and professional growth while fostering a thriving workplace culture.
Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for the Automotive Industry Employer of the Year award, businesses must:
- Employ an apprentice who attends training at the MTA.
- Be registered as a business in South Australia at the time of nomination.
If your business exemplifies excellence in training, workplace culture, and industry leadership, we encourage you to submit a nomination and be recognised for your contributions to the sector.
Automotive Apprentice Awards
The Automotive Apprentice Awards shine a spotlight on the exceptional efforts and dedication of apprentices across South Australia. By nominating your apprentices, you’re celebrating their achievements while showcasing your commitment to nurturing talent and supporting the future of the automotive industry.

Nominations are open for the following awards:
- Bob Goldsworthy Award – For 3rd and 4th Year Vehicle Painters and Panel Beater Apprentices.
- Most Outstanding 1st Year Apprentice – For 1st Year Apprentices.
- Most Outstanding 2nd Year Apprentice – For 2nd Year Apprentices.
- Most Outstanding 3rd Year Apprentice – For 3rd Year Apprentices.
- Apprentice of the Year – For 4th Year Apprentices.
- Commitment to Safety Award – Open to all 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Year Apprentices.
- Most Outstanding School-Based Apprentice of the Year – For School-Based Apprentices.
- Female Apprentice of the Year – Open to all 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Year Female Apprentices.
Each award celebrates apprentices who excel in their roles, make valuable contributions to their workplaces, and inspire the next generation of automotive professionals.
