This innovative program introduced by the Government of South Australia, SA Skills Commission, in consultation with the MTA Training and Employment, provides a streamlined pathway to formal trade recognition. It helps skilled technicians showcase their capabilities and gain certification. This is not a qualification course, but a recognition pathway designed to validate your hands-on experience.
HOW IT WORKS
By completing practical tasks and assessments in the automotive electrical trade, tailored and delivered through MTA Training & Employment, you will:
- Demonstrate your skills and knowledge
- Identify any additional training needed to support your development
- Work toward achieving a Trade Recognition Certificate

WHAT IS THE PROCESS
- Submit your application and fee for assessment online using the button below
- Your application will be lodged through the South Australian Skills Commission office and passed onto the MTA once approved
- MTA Training and Employment will contact you to arrange an interview
- Your skills will be reviewed during an in-person session
- MTA Training and Employment will review your skills against the qualification outcomes and identify any gap training required
- Your Occupational Recognition determination will be provided
