In the coming months, SA Parliament will debate the Second-hand Vehicle Dealers (Roadworthiness Certificates) Amendment Bill 2024, and the MTA is calling on members to get involved.
Earlier last week, we shared the email addresses of key Members of the Legislative Council (MLC) who will be debating this important legislation. We strongly encourage all members to reach out to these MLCs, sharing your experiences and those of your customers, particularly if they’ve been impacted by issues surrounding private sales of used cars.
So far, MTA SA/NT CEO Darrell Jacobs has met with:
- Minister for Transport and Infrastructure (ALP), Tom Koutsantonis
- Attorney-General (ALP), Kyam Maher
- Minister for Consumer Affairs (ALP), Andrea Michaels
- Member of the Legislative Council (ALP), Reggie Martin
- Shadow Minister for Infrastructure and Transport (LIB), Ben Hood
- Deputy Leader of the Opposition (LIB), Josh Teague
- Shadow Minister for Road Safety (LIB), Jack Batty
- Member of the Legislative Council (GREENS), Tammy Franks
As we continue to meet with key members of parliament, we encourage all MTA members who have yet to email parliament to click the “Email Members of Parliament” link below.
Your involvement in this debate is key to shaping the future of vehicle inspections and protecting consumers in South Australia.
If you’re using an older version of Outlook, please remember to separate each email address with semicolons (;) when sending your messages.
