When you are hiring a new employee, we highly encourage providing them with an employment contract that outlines their hours of work, remuneration, entitlements and expectations. Please see the attached example templates for a full-time, part-time, or casual contract.

We also recommend including a job description as an attachment to the contract to set out clear expectations of the role.

You must provide new employees with a Fair Work Information Statement and you must also provide casuals with a Casual Employment Information Statement. You can find these documents on the Fair Work Ombudsman website.
